Today is so uberly crucial to test Obama’s influence in American politics.
If a Democrat can’t win a House seat that has been in Republican control since the Civil War, that will mean it is Obama’s fault.
If a Democrat can’t win the Governorship of a state that Republicans have a long track record of doing well, that will mean it is Obama’s fault!
If Corzine can’t win re-election in New Jersey because he’s an idiot, that’ll mean it is Obama’s fault!!!
If Obama loses any of these races, that’ll mean he is an inept politician that can’t get anything done and that the US has swung back to supporting far right wing candidates like Ken Blackwell, that the economy is well into a depression and that all of our troops died in Afghanistan and Iraq.
OH! And because the Cubs and White Sox aren’t in the World Series… that is a testament that Obama just can’t get the job done. And don’t get me started on what the Olympics thing means. Might as well start learning Portugese.
