Yup… it’s that time again. Link
Quote from the link:
Democrats accused John McCain on Wednesday of being confused and unsympathetic for saying it’s “not too important” when U.S. troops leave Iraq, attacking the Republican presidential candidate on an issue he has made key in the November election.
Gosh, that seems pretty rough. Of course, being a person that can think for themselves, I’ve got to think that a former POW, especially one running for President isn’t going to be so careless.
Quote from the link:
But Democrats seized on McCain’s response to a question in a television interview when asked if he had a good estimate of when he thought American troops might come home from Iraq. “No, but that’s not too important,” McCain said on NBC’s “Today Show.” “What’s important is the casualties in Iraq.”
Yup… McCain is clearly being taken out of context. Kinda like when Kerry was taken out of context by Bush in 2004 when Bush claimed that Kerry thought terrorism was only a nuisance or that Iraq was better off with Hussein in power.
Crap politics and spin. I’m hoping many fewer will buy this Democrat spin bull than the Republicans that bought the crap Bush made regarding Kerry’s comments being taken out of context. This sort of stuff just isn’t acceptable!
When should the troops come back? Perhaps the question should be more intelligent. “How are we going to pay for the Iraq Occupation?”
Yeah… Bush has learned the lesson of Iraq and nation building. CNN Link.
“One of the lessons of Iraq is that in order for a democracy to develop or for an economy to develop there has to be a measure of security, which is now happening,” he said.
Who exactly learned that lesson with Iraq? That wasn’t a lesson of Iraq… it was the failure of Iraq. Everyone knew you needed security to establish peace…. everyone but the Bush Admin apparently. He might as well said, and “The lesson we learned from the White House burning down is that we shouldn’t play with fire.”
It is so nice to hear that Bush is starting to catch up with the 21st Century and what we know now. I wonder if anyone has told Bush about closing the barn door before the cow gets out.
Yes, it is that time again. In 2001, the collective minds of the right-wing, including the propaganda voices on AM Radio, lost all memory of most things prior to 2001, except the “Clinton Recession". Starting in 2001, you would begin hearing about how anyone against Bush was “Bush bashing” merely because he was George W. Bush… clearly unaware of the irony that was the relentless and unparalleled bashing of Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and even their teenage daughter, Chelsea for more than 8 years on issues so unimportant, most people can’t even remember what they were, other than Clinton lying under oath about receiving consensual oral sex.
But no, come after 2001 if you question Bush and why his war effort saw over 100,000 Iraqis die in the power vaccum or why he didn’t respond properly to Katrina or the energy / food market speculation or the sub prime mortgage debacle that has cost banks hundreds of billions, because of grossly inadequate regulations… you are a “Bush basher". Not someone trying to get answers to legitimate questions… but a “Bush Basher".
Sadly, the memory reset button has been hit again. As these flagrant propagandists, who so steadfastly stood behind a freshman politician, with no Federal Government experience and only two elected terms in any sort of public office (the bow cutting scissor wielding governor of Texas), the AM Radio contingent is actually saying that Obama doesn’t have the experience to be President. I’m well aware that referring to irony meters is very cliche, but still, I think the Irony Meter factory exploding because of these comments being made by the AM propagandists is worth noting.
But what else would you expect from people that attacked Clinton for firing rockets at Afghanistan (a place that was harboring that bin Laden guy) as a, what the Republican chaired 9/11 Commission noted as a “slur", “wag the dog” maneuver… but then actually defend the Homeland Security color system or mock any criticism of the war effort or the run up to the war by castigating Joseph Wilson… who was right about the yellow cake Uranium.
Right-wing media knows nothing of Irony. They say Obama, clearly can’t lead, ‘he doesn’t know what he is talking about’. This from a bunch of stooges that have defended George W Bush who clearly has no in-depth knowledge on anything that is Federal Government related. A man who has reacted poorly to almost every emergency in this country.
Granted, Obama’s experience should be a matter of discussion. Is he more qualified to lead than McCain? Experience is certainly a part of this issue. What I can’t help but find sour, though, are AM Radio personalities who are talking like Jerry Lawler during WWE commentary, ie spinning outright deception into what they’d consider reputable political thought.
CHICAGO - United announced numerous cuts in a desperate effort to only lose a small fortune instead of a large one this year. Among the cuts are 1400 employees. United is hoping to limit the number of people working on a flight by multi-tasking. Pilots now will serve beverages on all domestic flights. “It made a lot of sense,” started United Spokesman Scott McClellan. “We don’t serve drinks until we are at cruising altitude, so put the plane on auto-pilot and have the pilots serve the drinks.”
Among other cuts were slowing the planes down 15 mph in order to save about 10% of the fuel used on a flight.
The peanuts people are accustomed to getting on flights will be reused according to the United Spokesman. “We are certain we can get two or three more uses out of the peanuts. You’d be surprised how many aren’t digested fully,” said McClellan.
Finally, United will no longer fly the full distance to a destination. According to their new 90/10 plan, United will fly passengers 90% of the way and the passengers are responsible for the last 10%. United expects to save another 15% on costs with that cut alone.
United announced other cuts were possible, but not official yet. Some of these cuts include no longer landing because of the high energy use in landing and taking off, stop carrying people that are fat, possibly smaller bags of peanuts if nano-technology can allow for it, taxiing to the destination airport, stop carrying people at all and scrapping the whole bloody thing and using the money to invest into the speculative energy market.
